Recca Eleana Steacy was born Oct 19 1900 and died July 26 1977, the daughter of Evan Steacy and step-daughter Lettie (Letisha). She was the mother of Pauline Henson and wife Oren Earl. She married Oren in Sept 7, 1926. Recca’s natural mother, Elizabeth Scott, died, when she was only one of tubercolusis.

The name Recca came from a chance meeting of Evan and a young girl on a train. The young girl took a liking to Evan and told him that her name was Recca. Evan remembered the incident when he came to name his daughter. It is likely that Recca was young girls misprononciation of Rebecca. This storied inspired Doug Henson to name his daughter Rebecca.
