Horace Merriman was another uncle of Walter’s on his mother’s side. He played a significant role in the development of radio in the early 1930s. After living in the US, he settled in Meech Lake in Quebec. He was the father of John and the second Owen in the family.
Horace’s first wife died young and his second wife was bedridden all her life.
